Military says aid corridors suspended due to escalating combat operations

Israel’s military on Friday declared Gaza City a “dangerous combat zone” and announced the suspension of daily humanitarian pauses that previously allowed food and aid to be delivered into the area.
Last month, Israel had permitted temporary halts in fighting—from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.—to enable humanitarian agencies to supply food, water, and medical aid to residents. The military said the deteriorating security situation has made such pauses unsafe for both aid workers and civilians.
The suspension of aid corridors is expected to further intensify the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where residents have been facing severe shortages of essential supplies amid ongoing conflict. Humanitarian groups have warned that halting aid deliveries could push already vulnerable communities into deeper distress.
International observers have urged both sides to ensure that humanitarian assistance is not obstructed, stressing the need to protect civilians in conflict zones.
